Superintendent's Message

October 2024

Dear Mattituck-Cutchogue School Community,

Shawn Petretti, Superintendent MUFSDI hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer shared with loved ones and friends. As we enter the fall season, it’s the perfect time to cheer the opening of our schools and the start of another school year for our students, faculty and staff. It is always exciting to open our buildings and to have finalized summer projects, such as the high school tennis courts, air conditioning and the Outdoor Learning Space in the courtyard at Cutchogue East. I would like to thank everyone in our school community for creating educational opportunities and memories for a lifetime by organizing and participating in such special events such as our Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony, first responder appreciation day, our open houses, parent group meetings, the annual bonfire, Tucker Bowl and homecoming games. The new school year started off at full speed with all the traditional Tucker activities. So much goes into providing a well-rounded education for our students, and your ongoing support and involvement is always appreciated. On behalf of our Board of Education, I encourage all stakeholders to attend our upcoming Board of Education meetings. These meetings take place at the Jr.-Sr. High School Auditorium on the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. and include important topics such as curriculum updates, the Five-Year Facilities and Strategic plans, district goals and the upcoming annual school budget.

Stay informed, and never hesitate to contact my office with any questions or concerns.

Tucker Pride!

Shawn C. Petretti
